Climate Change Plan B

According to the World Meteorological Organization (2023), Planet Earth will cross the 1.5 °C global warming threshold by the year 2027. Approximately one month later (The Associated Press, June 15, 2023), the European Union's Copernicus Climate Change Service reported that global surface temperatures rose to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels for a few days at the onset of June 2023. On July 3, 2023, the hottest day ever recorded was indicated, the first time the global average temperature was above 17 degrees Celsius (62.6 Fahrenheit). The facts are clear. Planet Earth is warming faster than expected. Extreme weather events and natural disasters associated with global warming have become more frequent and devastating. A worldwide green shift to clean, renewable energy and net zero emissions have not occurred. The societal factor inhibiting climate change awareness and climate change action is proving to be as much of a challenge as climate change itself.
Simply put, the Paris 2015 and the COP climate conferences have failed to stop or slow down global warming, and only a handful of participating nations are on track to meet the 1.5°C goal above pre-industrial levels. Since Planet Earth is warming much faster than expected and the green shift is materializing much slower than expected, we need to bridge the gap today with Emergency Climate Actions and fast-forward the green shift to clean, renewable energy.
Enhanced methane management in the energy sector and enhanced carbon soil management in the agriculture sector are two best practices (cost-effective and relatively quick to implement) that can help reduce global temperatures and buy Planet Earth time to transition to clean, renewable energy.

Help Us Make a Difference

It is time to rethink climate change awareness and climate change action. Climate change is not something happening 20 or 10 years from now, and climate change is not something happening halfway around the world. Climate change is happening now, and it is literally happening in our communities, neighborhoods, and backyards.
